My Journey

My own journey mirrors many of the founders and leaders I serve.

I began working full-time just before turning 17, and over the last 30+ years I’ve built a career grounded in grit, accountability, and transformation. I started in banking, became a CPA, and for the past 19 years have practiced as a business attorney representing mission-driven organizations with revenues between $20 - $50 million.

What I’ve learned is this: many business owners are so focused on building and surviving, they rarely have time to innovate from within or prepare for what comes next. Most don’t have a clear succession plan, exit strategy, or innovation roadmap. They’ve spent decades building an asset, but not enough time designing how to protect, grow, or transfer it.

While many advisors focus on wealth, planning, or transactional outcomes, the biggest risk to legacy often occurs earlier—when leadership and decision authority are destabilized. Our transition advisory work helps business owners address these decision-layer risks before uncertainty erodes value, especially in the context of ownership changes or succession events.

That’s where The Strategy Partner comes in. I don’t show up as just an attorney or CPA - I show up as a strategist and transformation partner.
